METROCOMMUTE HEADLINE

Manhattan Saint Patrick's Day ParadeHappy Saint Patrick's Day! The Parade on Wednesday will result in the following road closures from 11AM to 5PM:

- 5th Avenue from 44th to 96th Street
- Vanderbilt Avenue from 43rd to 46th Street
- 43rd Street from 5th to Vanderbilt Avenues
- 44th to 46th Streets from Park Avenue to Vanderbilt Avvenue
- 88th to 92nd Streets from 5th to Park Avenue

Manhattan Large Potholes on FDR Drive Drive Drive DriveThere are large potholes on the FDR Drive in both directions through the 30's and 40's, causing a rough road surface, along with delays as cars try to slow down in order to stay in one piece. The NYCDOT will have their hands full this this spring, as the roads have taken a beating from the tough winter weather.

Suffolk County Overnight Lane Closures on Long Island ExpresswayOvernight Construction Alert for on the Long Island Expressway/I-495 between Exit 48 and Exit 49. All eastbound lanes will be CLOSED from 10:00 PM to 6:00 PM. All westbound lanes will be CLOSED from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. This will be ongoing until Friday morning March 19.

Roosevelt Island Tram Service SuspendedService on the Roosevelt Island Tram will be suspended both ways through August 2010 to facilitate a modernization project (the tram was originally considered a short-term fix for getting people onto and off off Roosevelt Island, and first began operating in 1976).

The train and the Q102 bus provide a direct connection to Roosevelt Island, and shuttle buses are also being provided from the , , and station stop at Queens Plaza.

Pot-Hole Repairs on the Area RoadwaysFrom the Upper East Side, to East New York, the area roads have been beaten up again by the weekend rainstorm. Be extra careful driving around as cars are slowing down and taking evasive measures to avoid being gobbled up by some of these monsters.

Also, expect to see crews out there on the area highways filling the pot-holes that have formed in response to the recent snow and rain storms. This will generally go on between 10AM and 3PM and will affect both directions of the FDR Drive, the Staten Island Expressway, the Belt Parkway, the Van Wyck, and most of the other highways in the area.

No Delays at the Airports!And now for something completely different...there are no delays at the area airports! In stark contrast to conditions over the past few days, arriving and departing flights at JFK, La Guardia, Newark, and Islip are all on time!
